Energy Modelling
Energy modelling provides valuable insight that can drive better building performance. We use whole-building energy modelling to compare design options and guide projects toward energy-efficient, high-performing design. We support project teams with energy code compliance and green building certifications, including BC Step Code, NECB, CAGBC Zero Carbon Building Design, Passive House, WELL, and LEED, as well as funding applications through federal, provincial, and utility programs.
Carbon Analysis
The carbon footprint of a building is largely determined before construction begins. Understanding the key drivers is the first step toward meaningful reductions. We prepare whole-building life cycle assessments (wbLCAs) to quantify the embodied and operational carbon emissions over a building's lifetime. We evaluate the carbon impact of design options across materials, systems, and energy sources, and guide projects toward low-carbon solutions.
Climate Resilience Assessment
As our climate changes, so must the way we think about buildings. We assess how buildings and communities perform under current and future climate conditions. Using local climate projections, we identify vulnerabilities, evaluate design options, and recommend strategies to strengthen resilience. Early identification of climate risks allows building owners and project teams to implement cost-effective strategies that keep buildings safe, functional, and comfortable over time.
Sustainability Master Planning
Some of the most important sustainability decisions happen before a building is designed. We work with developers and project teams to establish a clear sustainability vision for large-scale developments. We define objectives, set performance targets, and create a framework that guides decision-making and aligns the project team around shared goals.
